Making them honestly pretty quality ways to aimlessly browse porn!

Reply by BoringKate (1 year ago)I added profile pics :3 there's no way for regular users to upload one yet, but the default pic (a cat at a computer) gets coloured randomly based on your user id number, so even with most people using the default pic it'll still help with telling people apart at a glance.On a side note: I'm still working out how active to be about moderation, but I decided to delete the one (1) review that had been posted on a scene from the database by someone other than me. Calling black men BBCs is racist in a way that doesn't even make like grammatical sense. Maybe don't do that. Like think it through. How would you peg a cock? Is it a sounding scene?

Is that something that you would all be into? And what should it be called? I wanna call it bookmarking, but I feel like a bookmark is implied to be private (I don't think twitter shares bookmarks) and I think it would be neat to see other people's bookmarks. Calling them favorites (letterboxd lets you list some favourites on your profile) feels like it implies that they are actually your favorite scenes ever tho (when you may have never even watched them).

Most of the sites that it supports adding scenes from are already pretty comprehensively scraped, but they're always releasing new scenes, so there are already a few missing.Most importantly though: I also added support for javtrailers dot com (ironically it's one of the sites that I can't embed trailers from). Meaning that you can add basically any and all japanese pornos! There are way too many jav releases for me to scrape all of them, so doing it by user request was the only option.This kinda paves the way for sites like manyvids or clips4sale to get added next.

Also the Jules Jordan script picks out better thumbnails than it did back when I originally scrapped the whole site lol. Which makes it handy that I also added a way for me (just me) to rescrape a scene's data with a single click (I should probably have the site batch rescrape every Jules Jordan scene, but the server doesn't appreciate that type of load and it feels like a low priority).Sorry I keep switching randomly between doing update announcements in posts vs in the chatroom! Do y'all have a preferred spot for it?

Reply by BoringKate (1 year ago)I also fixed an issue that made searches basically skip half the results (when there were enough of them to span multiple pages) and I made it so that it will turn up results where the url exactly matches the search term (helpful for when you're looking for a specific scene).I'm never sure how worthwhile it is to report on little tweaks like that lol.

It's admittedly not set up to give much feedback (I wouldn't expect an error code), but it's still working for me (using my test account) and other people seem to have been able to get it working.Maybe try with a smaller file size image (anything under 8mb should be accepted and anything under 32mb should work if accepted, but idk maybe it needs to be even smaller for some reason) and make sure it's a jpg (I'd expect a png to work, but I haven't tested it).You might also just have to wait a bit. The first time I tested it just now it took awhile for the upload to complete (it was quick the second time tho).If you really really really can't get it working tho then upload a 128x128 jpg somewhere, send me the url for it, and I'll add it manually.

I feel like there's a real potential for profile pics to all end up being gnarly low quality boy dick pics lol.For now: I'm gonna allow nudes, but make sure it's a good and classy one and if it's not of you then make sure it's a professionally taken pic of a recognizable performer (a pic of Lisa Ann from a studio shoot is a little morally different from someone's questionably consenting and of age ex girlfriend).

It's a total mess.Adulttime doesn't really have publicly scrapable pages for each of its scenes.Like if you go to adulttime.com there are links to pages with trailers for series or movies and sometimes entire sfw cuts of movies, but you can't search for or even click through to individual scenes (it just takes you to a join page).Some adulttime series have their own dedicated websites that are a little more usable for non members. Like transfixed.com lets you search or browse and click through to individual scenes to get at the trailer and cast and description etc. But that varies too much from series to series. I'd have to be adding a specific series and not all of adulttime.AND EVEN THEN. If you check the page source on transfixed.com it doesn't actually have the description etc. All that stuff is loaded in using javascript. Which makes it more complected to scrape. It's set up (by the same company even) really similarly to the evilangels site (which I'd love to include, but haven't been able to).

Then today I fixed an issue with it and added the ability to exclude stuff with a hyphen.You can basically make your own hyper specific porn randomizer with it. Reply by BoringKate (1 year ago)I added the ability to follow and unfollow users and to see only new reviews or posts from users you follow.More importantly tho: The site's been moved over to pr0n.stream!I wanted to get the site its own domain name, stream was one of the cheapest top level domain options, pornboxd (which I liked because it was like a reference to letterboxd being the main inspiration for the site) was too similar to pornbox (a very well established site that coincidentally has a couple of my scenes for sale on it), and I was kinda shocked to see pr0n (leet speak for porn) was available and also that there's really no other website using the name (obviously there are people that own the pr0n dot com and dot net etc domain names, but they aren't doing anything with them) which makes it feel almost plausible for the site to show up in google search results someday.I also replaced the font (admittedly largely just to make it easier to tell 0s and capital Os apart) and made some other tweaks.As always: Let me know if I broke anything in the process!

I also bulk scraped everything from bob's tgirls and hussie pass (two of the new additions).I've even been making some progress with evil angels! Everything from evil angels will probably be getting added to the database tomorrow! It's gonna be the same situation as kink dot com though (every scene is gonna be added to the database, but you won't be able to request to have new scenes automatically scraped as they're released over time).

You can't delete replies or chatroom posts (just reviews and standalone posts). You also can't delete any post that's already been replied to. You're also only allowed to delete posts within the first ten minutes of them being posted.That should help anyone struggling with getting bbcode to work or anyone as prone to typos as me (I've like gone in and manually edited my own posts so many times already lol)!

When the cast list was longer than two everyone after the second person got left off. And I didn't get the url's for like half of the preview videos (a reversal from how I was able to scrape and embed preview videos for grooby scenes even though none of their sites let you watch those previews). Maybe someday that'll get fixed, but probably not for awhile. I have a lot of complaints about how they're running their own database though (lots of broken stuff, empty cast lists, recently added videos from the 2000s that say they're from 2024, pages that are for a specific scene while having a trailer that's for the full movie, etc), so even matching it perfectly wouldn't be perfect. Still! I'm surprised I was able to manage it at all!That's over eighteen thousand more scenes! Bringing the total to almost eighty thousand! The database is feeling pretty comprehensive now!I've also added another way of browsing scenes! The advanced search page (which has replaced the browsing page) has a third option now called mini thumbnails that'll shrink and crop thumbnails into a grid. Letting you fit more of em on the screen.

It might look a little like you're liking the most recent reply, but you should think of it as liking either the initial post or the thread as a whole.I've also hid the profile customization forms behind a link just to declutter things a little. Hopefully that won't discourage anyone from uploading a profile pic etc. Seeing the custom css that a few people have added has been really rad.Your profile page also gained a link to the all new notifications page (which shows likes, follows, and replies (but not replies that other people have made after you to a post you didn't make even though in practice those replies to replies might be responding to something you said)). It would make more sense for that link to be on the top bar, but I don't expect many people to use it and notifications is such a long word (that top bar is already getting cramped on mobile, so I'd have to switch to icons to fit it in).Cleaned up a bunch of stuff behind the scenes and made some other little tweaks too.

Didn't even really have any experience with using rss readers (I ended up settling into using inoreader even though it (like seemingly most readers) doesn't support embeded videos very well on desktop or mobile, so I ended up just removing them)).Let me know if you'd actually use an rss feed for account specific notifications (that was my initial plan as a way of compensating for the site not having an app) or a customizable version of the random porn feed (I do like the idea of just getting porn thrown at me even when I'm away from the site).

Both of which show up next to their username on their profile page (you can tell it isn't just part of their username because username's can't have spaces or parentheses).As soon as a banned user loads any page they're automatically logged out and sent to a different page explaining what just happened.The site is still pretty lite on moderation tools, but it's a step in the right direction.Pls no BNWO/BBC/spade stuff.

Reply by BoringKate (1 year ago)I've like merged the basic and advanced search pages into one page (with a little bit of added functionality).I've also used the drop down menu stuff (that's used on the notifications page and the new search page) to clean up user profiles a bit. It doesn't have to reload the whole page anymore when you switch to customizing your profile. Also now that watchlists are hidden by default you can really watchlist as much stuff as you want without the list totally burying the actual posts on your profile page.

Playing four videos simultaneously is a lot to ask of a web browser and an internet connection (the examples used also aren't the lowest bitrate trailers). Needing to enter scene id numbers is pretty awkward. It also just works best in a desktop browser with a 16 by 9 monitor. I have it automatically switching to landscape mode when you click to go fullscreen in mobile chrome, but it doesn't work in mobile firefox (I use firefox on desktop and mobile).

Reply by BoringKate (1 year ago)No posting lolicon pls.I'm not sure if what I just deleted was intended to be interpreted as such, but it had the look and one of the copies of it on e-hentai.org had it tagged as lolicon, so I figured that justified me deleting it.If this was an illustration focused site then I might have a more nuanced approach, but since the site is meant for live action videos (that's what the database is full of) where we can just ask "is the performer an adult" (if the video is on one of the supported sites then she should be) and because every review/post is shown to everyone (I doubt many people are using the "only show reviews from users you follow" option and the site isn't active enough for me to turn it on by default) I think it's easiest and reasonable to just outright ban it.

Reply by BoringKate (11 months ago)I added a little video icon to the top left corner of scene thumbnails to let you know if a scene has a trailer (without you needing to click through to find out).It isn't present on mini thumbnails because it would have to be ridiculously small to stay unobtrusive and it also obviously isn't on pages where the trailer is already visible.Let me know what you think! It's a little feature I've been wanting for awhile, but I'm not wild about the actual icon (I find it a little distracting) and I'm not sure if its meaning is intuitive enough to go without explanation.If I wanted to be real fancy and build on it then it could either link to the scene's page (where the trailer is watchable) or open the trailer in place in some way using javascript.

Reply by BoringKate (11 months ago)A couple small tweaks:I changed the random porn rss feed (which I doubt anyone is using) to only add a scene per day instead of per hour. I also added feedrabbit as a suggested way of using rss feeds (though there are probably more responsive rss to email services).The thumbnails on the front page are now sorted by the order they were added to the site instead of the scene's release date (the link under it also now takes you to a search page that's sorted in the same way which reveals that there was always secretly a "recently added" option that the search page just doesn't offer to you). That means things will get buried whenever I batch scrape a site or when a user scrapes old stuff, but it at least compensates for the fact that things don't generally get automatically scraped in the same order as their stated release dates. I've been like sincerely checking that front page thing almost every day just to see what new stuff is out and I've found it so frustrating to have the newly scraped stuff (the stuff that I haven't seen yet) not always show up at the top.

Reply by BoringKate (10 months ago)Bunch of updates.I scraped the entire libraries of a few more of the supported sites.The FAQ page now shows a real time counter of how many scenes are in the database (it's currently 111,128 scenes).The search page now lets you exclude results without videos even when you aren't having the results shown as videos.I added the ability for have a scene's "series" to be recorded and displayed. For some sites (like jules jordan) it'll just have the sites name, but for other sites (like bangbros) it'll actually have the sub site or series etc that the scene is from (like bang bus). Every scene is going to need to be rescraped to get that data, but doing so will fix a bunch of issues along the way (scenes are scraped better now than they were at various other points in time). So that's happening rn (which is why the site might be a little bit less responsive).

Reply by BoringKate (10 months ago)I finished having every single scene rescraped! Which (along with a bunch of waiting) required a bunch of work! I further fixed up how scenes are scraped! Added a lot of behind the scenes quality of life stuff (it's easier for me to manually delete scene entries and now when I have a ManyVids scene rescraped after it's had it's title changed it like automatically understands the redirect and corrects the url etc).Having everything scraped again should have fixed/improved a bunch of entries and it also made it possible to for me to find and clear out all of the mistakenly created entries and all of the entries for scenes that don't exist anymore (tons of videos had been taken down from ManyVids and even from studio sites). There were frustratingly even a few scenes taken down that people had reviewed, so I had to make it possible for reviews to be of deleted scenes.I also deleted and blocked compilation scenes from giorgiograndi.com (compilations from a few other sites were already similarly blocked).In an ideal world it would be cool to have scenes tagged as compilations or bts videos or remasters and to have them just hidden in searches by default, but for now it's easier to just delete em.Even with all of the deletions though: The total scene count is actually up by a few thousand since my last post! A lot of that comes from me adding support for (and the entire libraries of) men dot com and seancody dot com (two major gay porn sites) (there wasn't really any gay dude porn on here until now)!

Reply by BoringKate (10 months ago)The front page now lists the four most recently watchlisted scenes + links to a whole new page where you can browse your own watchlisted scenes along with every scene that's been watchlisted by any user + user pages now display their watchlist in a way that matches how it's done on the front page + their user page links to a version of the watchlist page that only shows their watchlist + scene pages for scenes that have been watchlisted now list all of the users that have watchlisted them.Hopefully that makes watchlists a little bit easier and more fun to use!

Reply by BoringKate (9 months ago)Now when you're doing a search and the thumbnail type etc are unspecified (like when you do a basic search or click a performer's name on a scene's page) there will be a link at the top of the search that'll let you switch to mini thumbnails with twenty per page and with videos without trailers excluded.I noticed that I was like constantly scrolling down to the bottom and ticking all those same boxes in the advanced search options as soon as I went to look up any performer and I figured it would be nice to have a more streamlined way of doing it.

For anyone who wants to get notified when a particular performer has a new scene out (assuming they did it with one of the sites that gets routinely/automatically checked for new releases) or for anyone that just wants all the latest scenes to show up in their rss reader. Reply by BoringKate (9 months ago)The site can now scrape scenes from kink dot com and evilangel dot com (which previously had to be manually scraped by me in really high effort ways)!It's slow, it doesn't always work, there's a hard limit on how many times it can be done a month, and it doesn't get the trailers from evilangel (my old method missed out on the trailers half the time too and this new method should at least always get the full cast), but it does (usually) work!Obviously this means that you can go and add any thing have been missed, but it imo more importantly opens the door to having those sites checked for new releases totally automatically (like a handful of other sites already are).

Like they go out of date and change constantly. And I can't just have the site rescrape every julesjordan scene every day (it would be too demanding).I got a solution working though! Using javascript! Now when you visit the scene page for a julesjordan.com scene your browser will automatically check the source page, get the video, insert it into the pr0n.stream page you're looking at, and even give it all the usual default settings (autoplay and mute and loop)!It's not seamless. It takes a moment to load in and autoplay doesn't seem to be working on mobile firefox for some reason. Those scenes will still also be treated like they don't have trailers when it comes to sorting search results. But it's still such an improvement!I remember there being sites that I didn't bother scraping because they had a similar timed trailer thing going on and having this working makes me more inclined to add support for sites like that in the future!

Them having everything split out into different sites makes it more of a hassle though and I feel like someone is going to get upset about me adding Blacked (obv because of the racism (not that other sites that I'm already supporting don't also fetishize black men in the same way)).Dorcel Club is a maybe. I hadn't considered it. I used to watch their scenes as a youth, but I feel like I never come across them anymore. Cool to see their still active!Adulttime is the site I've been wanting to add the most, but it isn't happening. They don't have a publicly browseable directory of their scenes. It might be doable if I got a membership, but I'm really not sure and I'm not making any money doing this, so I'm not gonna spend money on it.Puretaboo does let your browse their scenes without an account, so it should be doable, but it's an adulttime site. I'd rather not deal with it until I come up with a solution for adulttime that'll take care of puretaboo in the process.I had never heard of missax. Maybe.They're mostly all smaller sites (in terms of scene counts and not popularity). Adulttime would be huge because it encompasses a lot of things, but puretaboo and missax and most vixen sites have like around 500 scenes each. Scraping the rest of naughtyamerica would add more the the database than most of them combined.

The chatroom used to be a whole separate system, but now forum threads are really just reviews of scene number -1 (which doesn't exist in the database) in the same way that the posts you make from your profile page are really just reviews of scene number 0 (which doesn't exist in the database).It's already come with a few benefits. You earn points for replying to forum threads just like you do when replying to reviews (the chatroom didn't give point rewards).And you know the way that the chatroom only showed the most recent replies (with the option to see all of them)? That happens to every post/review/thread now. Like if your review gets a hundred replies then it won't show all of them when you see the review on your profile page or the allreviews page. So that's nice.

I might make it possible later for you to have it only show replies to a given post (such as a specific forum thread), but I imagine that I'm the only one using the rss feeds and I really just want em so that I can get notified whenever someone posts or replies anywhere on the site.

Everything should perform and look a bit better.I added a ton more stuff to the database (I built a not public, but more convenient way for me to still somewhat manually add a bunch of links at a time).You can bookmark redgifs clips now and browse bookmark lists in the same way you can with scene watchlists (the watchlist / bookmark wording mismatch is awkward, but will get dealt with later).I added a redgifs search page.BTW the searchterm variable from the search page actually also works in the endless scrolling, auto scrolling, and endless pmv modes too. You can just slap it onto the end of the url. Eventually I'll have to add some type of menu based way for people to access all the options that are hidden behind unmentioned url variables lol.

I also added the option to choose micro thumbnails from the advances options on the search page.

I'd love to fully just replace redgifs embeds on reddit with my own embeds of them (I think that would make scrolling through reddit a lot smoother), but I've been having trouble with it (I don't have much experience writing scripts like this and reddit does things in ways that make it extra complicated).

It'll start out by trying to find four scenes with EVERY cast member, but when it fails to do that (which is almost always will) it'll settle for four scenes with ANY of the cast members (which means the suggestions might just be random junk with the unimportant male costar).I might disable it later though because it makes pages take (imo noticeably) longer to load.Update: Okay yeah I nerfed it to make it only do that first check.

To try and encourage people to use the forum more.It's only visible when you're using a desktop browser, logged in, AND your window is wide enough for it to not cover up the main page content.Let me know what you think of it!I feel like it makes the site feel pretty cluttered, so I might add the option to disable it (or even make it an opt in type of thing). Could also be cool to replace it with random redgifs or randomize which thread it shows.

It takes ages to process and it doesn't get the trailer. It's also just Pure Taboo (not Adult Time as a whole). But I don't expect to have a better solution any time soon, so I figured I'd stop putting it off.Unrelatedly: The site might be a little unresponsive today while I'm rescraping every redgif. Once it's done I'll be able to sort them by upload date and clear out the dead ones (a lot of redgifs seem to get taken down after already being circulated a ton).

So that you can watch the trailer without leaving pr0n dot stream. It's not graceful, but I think it is convenient to have.I remade the trailer icon that shows up in the top left corner of thumbnails.I also made a trailer link icon to communicate that (although it doesn't have a trailer in the normal sense) a scene has a trailer that'll get in some way dynamically load when you visit the scene's page. Right now that icon shows up on teamskeet and julesjordan scenes.I made it so that teamskeet and julesjordan scenes will show up when you tick the "hide results without trailers" option in searches. They'll still get excluded when you have scenes presented as videos (instead of some type of thumbnail) though.I also got a few more of the already supported sites setup to be checked every morning for new scenes (although womp I've hit the free limit with a service I use for some of them, so some of them won't be getting scraped anymore until the 18th).

It'll automatically adjust the ten year ago date as time passes.Also btw there was ANOTHER (and out of my control) server move, but luckily this time we only lost a couple days worth of data. It was set to only allow me to do it for some reason (not sure how long that was the case).I also made it so that the site introduction only appears on the home page when you aren't logged in. So that there's less clutter and scrolling for people who have presumably already read it.
