Reply by BoringKate (6 days ago)Small update: Now it shows a male or female symbol next to a performers name in a scenes cast section. It won't be 100% accurate (I'm just using genderize.io to guess and like it thinks Cody Lane is a boy name) and it will also only appear when you're logged in (they only let you use their api 2500 times a month for free and I wanna keep pages loading quickly for web crawlers etc), but it might lead to other things down the road.Like I could use this to resort the cast list to always put women first (I hate that only some sites organize their cast lists that way).And I could get around the api usage limit by caching responses (storing my own list of performer name genders that I could even then manually fix when mistakes are notices).UPDATE TO THAT UPDATE: I went ahead and put caching in place :3 the site will slowly build a database of pornstar names and genders as scene pages are loaded! It'll even show already cached genders while logged out (it'll just only get and save new data for logged in users)!

Reply by BoringKate (4 days ago)I made popups (the text blocks that appear at the top of a page to let you know when you've earned points) break up more naturally (when you have more than one at a time) and added am exclamation emoji to make them more quickly identifiable.I added a few more randomly occurring quasi joke popups, so you won't get the same ones as often.I added the ability to send other users messages by going to their user page. Any messages you receive will appear as a one time popup, but you can also access and revisit past messages from your notifications page (which you can find on your profile page) (giving your notifications page more of a purpose). It costs 5 points to send a message (discouraging extreme spam and giving points more of a purpose).If any of you are annoyed by messages you're receiving then let me know. I'll probably make it so that people can only be sent notifications by people they're following (and then probably set it up so that my account auto follows everyone) (which would give following people more of a purpose).The most recently online users are now listed on the front page. I already had that working for myself for ages (I find it affirming knowing that people are regularly using the site even if it isn't many people), but I only just now made it visible to everyone else.I got rid of the exclamation marks that told you when there was a new review or forum post for you to see. I didn't like the way they were implemented.I cleaned up a few more things. The site is a little bit more consistent when it comes to capitalizing the first letter in things.I fixed the RSS page and RSS feeds.I also added a couple more (unpaid) banner ads to the rotation. Just for a couple indie games (made by a couple mutuals) that I think are pretty neat (one of the games is even free). You can (as always) disable the banner ads by going to your profile page and opting out.BTW you're able to use bbcode in messages, so feel free to send me random redgifs to goon to :3
